The first slight dip that your front tyres hit are going to rip your door hinges right out of your wood. If they don't come out, they are going to be pretty bent up. Have your friend push you over a dip in the road and prove it. Post the pics after as well.

With the engine conversion, you cannot just fill the crankcase up with oil. You NEED to have most of the case free of oil. You are going to have to make a oil slinger, and if you put it in the right place (check out google and YouTube) you won't need to worry about everything getting lubricated

Seriously, enough is enough. Stop what you're doing and go do some odd jobs (as TS mentioned) to make a few bucks. I picked up 3 kart frames this weekend and though they need a little work (no welding) they would serve much better than your current project. $50 for each. One with a fiberglass body. Take a look around CL and find something. You can still try your engine conversion, but at least you'll have a solid foundation. BTW, a helmet only protects your head. You need full body armor if you're going to continue.

when im hauling *** down the road.

That's what we're worried about. Hauling your @$$ down the road, hauling your face down the road, whatever- it's just a matter of which body part touches down first.

Regarding the oil slinger- just make an oil slinger. If it's good enough for the OEM, it's good enough for you. I mean, you can put a spitload of oil in there instead of a slinger, but be sure to video the results for us. Not much on TV right now...:lolgoku:

Some advice on this would be great.

Dude....you've been given the best advice you're ever gonna get. Quit before you hurt yourself. Do what you have to do in order to earn some money and buy a decent frame. There's no way this isn't going to end badly.

Why do I keep following this thread!?! If I was just another worldly cynic, I would say "The rules that Darwin discovered and documented should just be allowed to run their course". The problem is, I'm not one of those cynics.

Gopedude; how do I get thru to you when it comes to your personal safety? Sarcasm fails to work; appeals to your well being fail to work; asking where you want us to send flowers/ money/ ? in your name fail to work.

If you follow almost all the threads on this site, if the neophyte actually wants answers to their questions, AND IS ACTUALLY WILLING TO LISTEN TO THE ANSWERS GIVEN, we can help. When all our help is thrown back in our collected faces, we all have to ask; "WHY DOES THIS PERSON POST HERE?!?. Even more importantly, WHY DO WE EVEN TRY TO HELP THIS ************$@##*!!!!!!!!!.

The only reason I've loosely followed what you are doing is because if you were my next door neighbor, the code of ethics that I was raised with would tell me to do everything I could to try and save you from yourself. The fact that you just don't get that just makes it harder for people like me.

The fact that you seem to laugh off our help is highly insulting, to say the least.

Now; if you were in MY position, how would you respond?

Flippant answers will tell the tale.

Guy's Guy's, you don't think that Gopedude, is really going to get an engine to power this thing do you? The best I see him doing is rolling down a hill, or being pushed by a friend. We all know how much engineering it takes to get an engine to actualey power a go kart. Do you really, I mean really think, that it will get any farther than trying to hold the engine on with wood screws. It would vibrate right off the mounts before he got ten feet, if he got it to move at all. I say let him build, how else does he learn.

The last thing i want to do is offend any body. Just in case i didnt say this before, i am saving while doing this project to buy a frame. The sole reason im building this right now is because its fun. Even if it works for a matter of hours then breaks, in my eyes it was worth it. i will be able to transfer over the clutch chain and sprocket to the new frame, so i have nothing to lose. Just time.

I would like to note that i HAVE taken advice on this project, except the advice to throw a match at it, for obvious reasons.
I guess you guys cant understand. I have fun doing this project, since i have to wait for my money to accumulate.
Now, with that said, can we PLEASE stop the hate, and just view this thread for your own entertainment? (except my engine questions. i could use help on that)

Now, the moment you've all been waiting for. Would this be a good buy?

Even though i hate to say it, your completely correct. It will be a huge challenge to actually put a motor on using a wood mounting, and have it not bend. But, if i do it, not only do i get experience, but i also just proved (most) everyone wrong. I guess we'll see if i can pull it off. that is before i get a good frame.

Dude, that's not needed. Suicide isn't funny, and doesn't help this build at all.
Get off my thread.

You're* right.... suicide ISNT funny... but thats all this thread is about. your "build" is suicide. You need to get your head out of your *** or ride a wooden splinter deathtrap to hell. Your call.

Please leave a note for mommy and daddy to take pictures of your brutally mangled grease smear of a corpse so we have some persuasion against future newbs who try to do idiotic things in the most idiotic way.:kewlsmiley:

Please, dont let me stand in the way of your PVC door hinge death trap. Push onward and "complete" your awesome "kart" and prove us "wrong".

Just remember: :useless:

:smiley_omg:YES, YES, A THOUSAND TIMES
YES!!! :wai:

Go & get it right now, I'm begging you! Beg, borrow or steal for the cash if you have to just get it!

A 1000 000 times YES. That is a good deal. It will save you getting killed with what you are doing now. It even looks like it has an engine on it. I would say score!!
