Well I just had back surgery on the 16th so I am stuck laying in bed or basically pacing around my house. Will have to wait at least 6 weeks before getting back on them which sucks since I ride just about everyday. Already sooooo bored with videogames and I am not supposed to sit for more than a few minutes at a time.

Any suggestions?

Yes the surgeon himself said it went perfect, so that is good.

Walking slow is ok, the problem is if I go too far and don't want to walk back......lol

My wife had back surgery a few years ago, and my dad has had 2. I remember for both of them they were expressly told NOT to sit for 6 weeks as this will cause irreparable damage to the back. Are you sure you are able to sit at all for those 6 weeks. I would make 100% sure with my doc.

That’s a bummer that you cannot ride though

Ecch. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

If there's any mods you would like to do to your machine, I suppose now is the time to do them (carefully).

I am sure it depends on the type of surgery. I had a laminectomy and micro discectomy, which basically means they go in from the back, remove a small amount of bone so they can access the herniated disc and then cut off the piece of the disc which is pressing on the main nerves of the back.

The doctor said sitting for a few minutes is ok, but it is literally the WORST position to be in since it puts the most pressure on the vertebrae.

I can tell you the valium I got are crazy strong. I took half of one and was a zombie from 7pm till 10am the next morning......
