Ok Guys I was about to run down and pick up a belt for this beast, the auto parts guy said just measure the distance and a belt he would find to fit. Last time he said that I spent the weekend tring to figure a way a battery in my cruiser that was 3in too big. I looked at where the belt should be...

now I have looked around but did not see anyway to adjust the belt, am I blind? does it just slide on the back pulley and after removing the bolt on the front one it slides on?
I measured the distance, it is 20in, any help would be fantastic, I am itching to drive this beast! Here are more shots of the motor.

Do NOT attempt to use an automotive belt from an auto parts store, it will not work, period. CVT belts are very specifically dimensioned, and there is no "cheap alternative". There is no adjusting the belt.

20 inches is too much. Measure from the center of the shaft from the motor to the center of the Jackshaft. It should be about like 7 -13 inches max. Also measure the diameter of your driven unit (the larger pulley)

Hit up this website to find the right belt.

You have a 30 series torque converter, make sure you match up center to center, and measure the correct diameter of your driven unit. Look up the part number on eBay to get a better deal.

When you install the belt it just slides on the bigger pully, remove the half of the smaller pulley and the belt goes right on. It WILL have some slack which it is supposed to have.

I found a vid on u-tube of how the TC works, it makes more sense now.

While you wait for your belt to arrive after you have ordered it, it would be a good time to clean out the torque converter. A basic wrench set, small wire brush, dry moly (or dry graphite), and PTFE dry lube will work great.

There are plenty of videos on how to clean it. You most likely will not have to clean the driven unit, only lube with Teflon(PTFE) dry lube, but you will have to pull apart the drive/driver unit and clean it up nicely in order for it to work great. If it is having a lot of issues, you may need a small round file or some fine grit sandpaper. (you will see when you watch the vids online)
