I just bought a kart with no motor. the previous owner gave me a belt clutch and a driven. The problem is that the drive has been drilled and bolted together so that it wont open and close. I am wondering if it is damaged because of all the holes. Im not sure I understand how a driven works, and I if I should just build a jack shaft with sprockets. Ill try to post some pictures.

Ok so I'm not having any luck getting my phone to post pictures, but this is what I have. I have a comet industries 20 p5 driven pulley and a hillard corp. Centrifical clutch (pulley). I am not sure what belt is supposed to go on this configurarion. Im gonna try to take the driven pulley apart and patch the holes and try to get it all back together, then go from there. Help locating the proper belt would be greatly appreciated.

If your description is halfway correct, there is no "proper belt". You can't use a half a CVT with a centrifugal clutch. What a hack job. The guy obviously bolted the driven together to act as a simple pulley. If you really want to use this setup, shop for a "B-section" industrial belt.

Thanks for the help guys. I dont remember these gizmos being around 20 years ago when I was playing with go karts. Now that my kids are riding I need to learn all this stuff. I think ill be picking up a whole new setup.
