That is better than lemon juice

But the idea of lemon juice is u throw the whole part in and let it soak
The juice gets in every tiny hole and corner that u can't scrub to give a 100% clean

I bought 100% lemon juice because my wife told me she needed it for a recipe. I did not had time today to do anything... and I guess tomorrow I won't have time either, Bummer. I hope she leave me some juice for cleaning the carb, Lol.

Hey guys I cleaned my carb with a wire brush and threw it a couple of hours on lemon juice.
Is this the governor adjust screw ?

I broke the idle mix screw trying to take the tamper cap.... I may have to drill the rest of the screw....

No- that's not the governor adjust, that's the throttle arm. Also looks like your spark plug is broken. Do us a favour and downsize your pics though, please.

I threw away that screw I think... Is it necessary to be there? I changed the pic. o_O The spark plug? I replaced it after I took that pic,but did not noticed if it was broken.

I want to remove governor, Removing the governor from this engine is similar to a honda gx200. Do I need to connect the gas throtle directly to the carb and remove some of the parts from the throtle arm which connects to the governor leveler?

Ok, thanks I have all the info for my setup I got a closer look at the engine today with my friend for what I am going to do to it. We did some stuff to the Carb, removed a jet and then placed it back and engine would not power on, it had to much gasoline coming out from the exhaust. It was the jet. Then the engine had to much gasoline for it to turn on, that I told my friend lets wait for it to evaporate it was dark outside he had to go so we left it to keep on working with it later, maybe tomorrow.

This appears to be what I broke:

Is that the idle mix adjust screw?

Sadly, yes - that's the same barstard I broke off. :censored:

If you're lucky there's enough left of it to grab with some pliers, if you're like me it broke off flush with the carb body...

fyi, it's a fine metric thread screw, NONE of my Briggs/Tecumseh/Holley/Rochester parts carbs had a screw like it... and none of my local shops carry or could get one...I couldn't wait for an internet purchase, so I used a dremel tool with a really thin cutting disk to cut a groove in the remains of the screw (and the carb body around it), then was able to back the remains out, then I re-tapped the threads in the carb body for a mixture screw that I did have. If I could have gotten to the screw straight-on when the carb was mounted on the engine, I might have just used the screw remains (knowing that it might move, not having the anti-vibration spring underneath the now non-existent screw head).

But since Subaru uses a carb that points the idle mix screw RIGHT AT the engine so you'll never get a screwdriver straight on it... :mad2::mad2::mad2:

I used to really like Subaru Robin engines...

:-( I think I may have to get a new carb because it broke completely to the border of the hole... the rest of it can not be grabbed by anything. The screw broke when I tried to give some movement to it. When I removed the plastic tap it did not broke.

I took the engine off the kart to see if I can remove the governor... and get a closer look to what I can do with it.

Any recommendations for a cheap Carb which would work like this one or better than it?

If you're going to lose the governor and you don't mind re-routing fuel lines and throttle cables, then there are lots of options - slide-types like Keihin PE28, Walbro PZ, and their clones are just a few.

Check eBay, you ought be able to get a keihin clone for 30-40 bucks.

I'm not sure, but I think they're comparable to each other.

I suggest searching on "keihin" or "mikuni" or such over at http://karting.4cycle.com, lots of direct experience there, or maybe a scooter forum...

Thanks I will try drilling it, Is it necessary to use a screw with a needle head? If I can not do anything I will search for the keihin or mikuni carb.

If you can find a screw with the proper threads, you could chuck the screw in a drill and grind/file/polish the end into a tapered needle. Some folks might say that you wouldn't be as precise as factory, but I've done it several times and if you go slowly you can be as precise as you want - and it's just a taper in a small engine, this ain't NASA. More taper = finer control over idle mix, less taper = less control.

Sorry to ask but what does tap mean? I am sorry my first language is Spanish. XD
My friend gave me the idea of using a dremel tool with a small disk that will make a line on the remaining of screw so a flat head screw driver can move it... I will try that or buy the Carb from a nearby neighbor who said that has a damaged engine.

I have done that Dremel trick many times, and it generally works. On the other hand, I tried in once on the same screw on a clone carb, and it did not. The jet needle was brass, and likely fixed in place with a powerful thread locking compound. Give it a shot, it might work.

A tap is the tool that cuts new threads on a hole.

Thanks for the reply now I know what tap means :). And yes I will try the dremel trick, My dad has a dremel tool I can borrow but he lent it to my brother I will have to wait for him to lend it to me.

Edit- My dad helped me with the carburetor, we broke it. Now I will have to buy an other carburetor.
Question does removing the governor leveler, leaving the governor gear inside gives some power?
Just like you said the jet needle was brass... it was so tight that it would not come out... Instead it came out with the whole piece of the carburetor were it was on.
