Do any if you guy wear a helmet when offroading in a go kart? I'm trying to decide if I should get one.

Depends. If I'm just fooling around in the yard, no. If I'm doing speed runs on the road (loose gravel and potholes, 40+MPH) then yes. Also when testing a ride for the first few shakedown runs.

Definintely get a helmet. Shouldn't even be a question...especially for off road use.

If I wasn't wearing a helmet every time i ride a dirtbike or mini bike then I would not be here

ditto goes for me and my snowboard. I ahve hit my head pretty hard after a jump. Glad I was wearing a helmt for that too.

I don't when riding my daughters kart (but she does), usually because I'm trying to listen to diagnose a problem & it's not that quick but, on my kart, ALWAYS!

I dont... I dont have a helmet. Then again, I dont have a functioning goket ot minibike right now. Id like to get a 3 wheeler sometime, then I will plan to get a helmet. Or maybe once I get my honda trail bikes running...
I have a problem though, I dont like wearing hats or anything like that... dont know why, just dont.
I like to feel the wind on my head or something.
Though, at the speeds Im going, and what I have to ride on I dont think it is a nesessity until I start going faster... I dont know.
But like I said, when I get my grubby paws on a nice Honda 250sx I will get a helmet.

I would. on my mini bike after doing an engine swap to the 7hp HF engine before i got a helmet i went full throttle at first because i didnt have a twist grip and did a wheelie lost control and came inches away from smacking and scraping my head on the concrete.

I haven't got my kart running yet, but i have asked mum for a Helmet for Christmas. I know it should be built strong but in the case my kart breaks down or i have an accident, i want to know my head is safe

i hit a rock at 45 to 50mph mph and flew, then hit my head on another big rock and got a concussion if i didnt have a helmet it would not have been pretty , I would not have gotten to walk away from it. Not to mention the time my minibike fell apart on me when I was riding 40 mph on new asphalst and I flew over the handle bars and broke my wrist. I would recommend a dot approved full faced helmet . I use a full faced dot approved dirtbike helmet.

I wear a helmet when I ride anything with wheels, I've had a lot of close calls and in some instances if I didnt wear one, I wouldn't be here today. I've gone so far as riding my fullface helmet while in the semi going down the road and sometimes even when sitting on the couch. I love my helmet and have been lazy enough not to take it off while going into the grocery store to grab a buncha items. My girl thinks I'm nuts and other people think I'm insane. Good thing I've got good dark goggles so no one can see me.

riding by myself at WOT, heck yah. 35+ MPH on that thing is wild
with kids on the go kart, they do.. i don't.. i keep the donuts to a minimum and go less than 25 ish.
by myself, with the 7K+ RPM Briggs yes, Crappy briggs No, GX-390.. TBD.
Drag racing my camaro, it's required.
Riding with my wife, once and got punched.

Have you ever watched the British Top Gear??
Anyway, the guy that does the laps on the track is called their "tame racing driver." He always wears racing gear with teh helmet and everything no matter what, even on public transit. He doesn't talk either.

i don't. never have never will. i don't ride with hardily any thing. i would suggest wearing shoes though i had stitches in my foot at thanksgiving and it hasn't healed since that is not to say that i will ride with shoes unless its cold
