Just bought the Silverado It's a Government surplus truck. Paid $8000. Being a Government surplus truck is why it's a 2003 with only 24k. Just got it last month. 4x4 with aircon power locks and windows. Thats about it option wise.

Also have an 83 Ranger you can see the nose in one pic. Wife has a 06 Kia Rio.

but primer does not seal the metal and i think most primers absorb water which is why it is so important to paint it with something even it it is just a clear coat.

It looks like he's just painting over the old paint, so he should be good with a little sanding.

Best to get yourself some etch primer

Only needs to if he's painting bare metal.

Nice rides Bighead. Where are you parking them all? From all the pics we see of your garage and yard, I cannot imaging where they would get parked.

...implying that the primer was applied to bare metal
well with basic truck rust you usually have to take it down to bare metal even if it is just in certain spots. you can see from the one picture that it has truck rust and usually drivers side is worse but it has probably already been covered.

Geeze, with factory options like that no wonder you don't modify vehicles a hole lot down there.

Either a '00 Silverado pickup, often as not it's this oldie, a '62 Ranchero that I was 'forced' to drive in highschool, then spent 25 years begging Dad to sell it to me. Straight Six, 3 on the Tree, and power nothing!

Ok I am sanding it down to where it is smooth and then painting it. I sand as I go so that is why some isn't sanded and the drivers side has already been fixed I'm going to be working on the passenger's side tomorrow actually would today but at my school the whole marching band has to play at basketball games so I'm doing that tonight instead.

those aint even options
they come standard as long as u buy the mid to high range model

and ohh yea we mod vehicals

there are some serious 4x4s out there

car mods are very big in australia
almost everyones first car is modded to the best of there skill
so everything from a bigger sterio to lowered and new engine
and anyone who had a 4x4 as the first car fit bigger tyres or lift it
some do engine mods

thsis is the ultimate goal
i guess its knida like your baja race

The way fabroman made it sound was that no one did anything to their road vehicles because you weren't allowed to. I guess it might be different in your province.

ye are divided into 7 states :lolgoku:

and yes we can get away with more

its more a case of a completely differant set of laws

im im the state of Western australia and the east of australia holds the magorty of the population

the eastern states have much tougher traffic laws like young drivers cant drive a v8 car or young drives cant take a passenger

also they have really strict speeding laws and have perminent speed cameras and cops every where
in western australia we have 2 perminent cameras and they are only 1 year old and u are lucky to see a 1 cop every few weeks even in the city

to mod a car u can do a certain amount before u require an engeneers certificate
but because u rearely get caught what alot of people do is mod the car and drive as is till they get caught
then take it home, un mod it take it to the pits where they pass then go back home and remodify it
theres no law about how many times u can do that
