Just bought this kart for my kids. Major negative camber. Adjusted shocks and still an issue. Adding some pics to show. Also where my finger is is very loose on both sides. Not sure if this is normal or what. Steering is a nightmare. Barely turn and tires hit the frame. Its a yerf dog 3202 i think. Insight? Thanks in advance.

The slop in the spindle probably doesn't help, but I suspect your bigger problem is that the springs are just old to the point of being too weak.

I agree. I have also heard that some of those YerfDogs got recalled because of steering issues. They turned too much and caused the kart to flip. Do a search on the forum regarding this.

Have a look at these

Check the toe-in. Make sure it has some. I have the same kart and the steering does leave a lot to be desired, but with some toe-in, it's better.

pull those spindles off and see whats up. its probrobly suposed to have some bushings in there. but if not maby your bolt is worn thin. also those shocks are adjustable. if you can jack it up some it will help

Adjusted shocks and still an issue.

Missed it, didn't ya? :toetap05::D

Although, I do agree that there may be bad spindle bushing or wheel bearing wear. Quick test: Jack one front wheel off the ground. Grab the wheel with both hands, and see if it'll wobble around on the spindle. It should not.

After doing done tinkering around this weekend I realized there were no bushings on the spindles. Neither side. So I added some and viola, issue solved. Steering still a pain in the *** but a lot better. Now I have a new issue maybe you guys can help with. (Thanks for the previous help) I have the comet 20 series tc, and the spring in the driven end keeps "stretching out". I just put a new one in and rode maybe 20 minutes before it stopped moving the cart and I smelled rubber. The driver is working but the driven is hanging up the belt at times. What's up? :mad2:

Have you cleaned your TC? have a look at these vids. Post some pics of what your TC looks like on your engine

It absolutely does wobble. Both sides. Found out there were no bushings at all.

Here are some pics of whats on the kart. A comet 20 series tc. Like i said the spring is brand new and already "stretched" out. I also noticed that some of the black "nipples" were missing after the last ride ending in the kart not moving. Anyway, is this thing considered dirty, need to be cleaned, in good shape? i have no idea. I want to get a yellow spring but dont want to waste the $$. If it helps the kart jumps and lurches before taking off. And the belt was getting eaten up a little.. Dont want to keep putting money into this thing over and over again. Rather fix it or trash the :censored: thing.

Those cam buttons are critical. You'll need to order new ones. Perhaps the old ones were just too worn, and/or it needs a good cleaning.

it looks like that outer hub is not close enough to the driver and thats what messed up your buttons. there should be a clip holding it in it should not be all the way out to the nut.

:iagree: It should not show show much of the "insides". It should look more closed like in the pic I have posted. I also posted an exploded diagram of parts. Does it look like you are missing something there?

Have a look HERE as well.

I don't have any sort of clip on the outside. Just the nut. I'm guessing the clip would make it closer so the "insides" wouldn't show so much? I'm ordering new cam buttons and perhaps the yellow spring. Wheres a good inexpensive place? Don't mind used either.

Looking closer I realize its a snap ring. Definitely not on my kart. The outer hub sits all the way out. I'll have to check the misc bag o nuts bolts and assorted things that came with it. Thanks guys.

When you are ready to put it back together, after you clean the driven and replace the buttons, you have to rotate the outer pulley to pre-load it. Someone on here will know which way. I think it's CCW, 3/4 turn.

It's apperent that some on this forum have never owned a full suspension yerfdog. I have. Let me correct done things for you.
The spindles are weak and need replaced before the shaft tears out like mine did. I literally took a corner and watch in hopeless horror as my right front wheel came off and went flying down the track in front of me. They are weak and truly garbage. DO NOT TRUST THESE!!!! Go to buggy depot and buy the beefy reworked spindles.
Second issue- turn in. These have ZERO Ackerman principle applied to the steering geometry. You either need to find a way to add it in, or do what I did; add toe out to achieve both a degree of Ackerman AND at the same time quicken your steering.

Third issue- rolling. It's gonna happen. So you have two options; accept it and be REALLY careful, or swap sprockets and reduce top speed. The roll over happens because of the swing arm design in the rear. It doesn't allow oscillation during hard corners. As well it doesnt have enough torque to continue spinning the tires and thus have the rear end slide out, instead, the rear tires dig in around a corner and thus transfer the weight to the top/outside of the frame. And then you flip.... I know this because I've rolled my 3203 four times. I did many things to dial out the roll over factor, in short you have two options:
1) get a dirt bike motor to stop the rear tires from digging in (instead you'll drift because of the new power)
2) completely redesign the suspension system. Do away with the swing arm and look for an independent setup

In short it's a mediocre kart that'll flip and kill your kids unless you've got mad fabrication skills and more money. I <3 mine.
Side note- replace EVERY bolt and washer on this kart with some grade 8 stuff. You won't believe how many things break on these karts simply because of cheap bolts and washers. Pm me if you want more info.
