Speed help

this may sound stupid but i was wondering with a lawnmower engine is there any way to controle the speed?

e.g when driving like a accelerator pedal if so how would i go abouce setting it up?

yeah. the more you press the pedal, the more the thingy in the carb opens, the more air comes in, the more fuel comes in, the more power is made, the more power is sent to the wheels, the more power sent to the ground, the more racy feeling you get in the crotch.

I'm assuming it's a vertical mount if you're talking about a lawnmower engine. Pics would definitely help, in particular of all the stuff that has the small springs on it.

thanks for the help but i gave up on the lawnmower engine i snapped the belt that i twisted to the axel. so i brought a 5.5 hp go cart engine with an easy to set up accelerator. the only problem i have now is i dont have a back axel or enough money to buy one after the engine have any ideas on how i could make one with pole's nuts and bolts and a drill ( low on parts ) ?
