thanks for the input I just bought a comet clone driver and driven from mysteryboy28 the same ones I showed earlier except the driven has a 5/8" bore instead of 7/8 :wai:
hopefully they will be just as good as the true comet and they should work for the 16 hp engine I plan to get :cheers2:

Nice!!!! The clones look great and work great for us so far! Exciting fun stuff... I remember getting them in the mail.... like a little kid I ran to the mailbox and saw the box underneath... pure bliss.

I am just starting my first build and I have the frame cut and am about to weld it. my question is with the frame being about 180 lbs and my weight being around 170 lbs is a 16hp with 6:1 gear ratio on top of the 40 series tc, will I have the power to climb hills and also have a fair exelleration? keep in mind the cart ia a single seat small buggy not realy a "go kart" what do you think???

any responce is apreciated :cheers2:

I'm 190, and my kart is 200lb, 72 tooth to 13 tooth. Goes up hills fine, fast.

OK here are some new pics of my engine anybody know how I can make the shifter use a cable or some kind of flexible linkage so it can cross to the main body of my frame? also in one of the pics it shows the drive shaft and such... how can I possibly divert the chain around some of this stuff like the shifter will small sprockets pushing it out of the way fix this? the other pics are just to show the engine and 4 exhaust straight pipes

Do a google search for morse cable or push pull cable. Be warned, they can be expensive. Otherwise, you're looking at a dual cable setup

yeah it is supposed to be air cooled but I may have to put in a fan because the air will be blocked by the seat and also I plan to install a fire wall to keep the seat and me from catching fire witch will restrict even more air flow but it may be OK how it is....sugjestions are welcome
