Hello everyone, new to the forum and wanted to get your opinion on my project. Saw this on CL, the guy needed a dehumidifier, so we traded. Bought a Predator 212cc and swapped it out on my pressure washer, so using this 5.5hp "Coleman" engine. Had to fabricate some nylon bushings for the spindles, way too much play. , bought a centrifical clutch but it was burning up badly.Waiting for the Torque converter to come in. So what do you think guys?

Lol, the last pic look a bit better than the first; good job.

What is your gearing? That may be the culprit for your burning clutch. IMO, I also think it's a bit underpowered

You got a nice deal over there. You'll be better of a with Torque converter, other than a centrifugal clutch.
Very nice job on the cleaning and painting! Looks like new now. ;)

Well, I have a 60 tooth axle sprocket and a 10 tooth gear sprocket. So, 6 to 1 I guess?

centrifugal clutches are just gay. that torque converter you have coming will rock your socks. your gearing is fine. once you slap the TC on you will have an obvious improvement in torque and hill climbing ability.

good find and deal with the kart/dehumidifier! only thing i'd change is the design of the roll cage. looks a little too box-ish to me.

That gearing is not too bad. But I'd suggest something like 7:1, maybe a little bit lower.

With those big wheels that sounds about right, however...

... so, I'd leave it alone for now.

Agreed. 60 tooth axle with a 10 tooth on the converter should have PLENTY of torque, assuming those tires are 16-18" (although you still may get away with that ratio with up to 20", depending on your preference) but with only a 5.5 hp engine, you may even consider stepping up to a 72 tooth axle sprocket.
