@ devino: WOW! Someone's educated, good on you

I've found that I have a learning addiction:smartass: Whenever I get mostly done with these websites, I figure I'll start learning some lower-level programming. C might be a good start...or maybe Java. Hmmmm.

Don't even get me started on chemistry or physics related matters.

I would definitely say C, it leads to C++ much easier than java, or so I have been told.

I've seen things similar to what you're describing, though. And yes, that could be a potential legal problem.

Only thing is, I just don't know where I'd use C.

Ya, I know. I haven't found one real world use where C is better than java yet. I was just suggesting it in case you wanted to go on to higher level programing. It seems to be a better stepping block than java.

I've been working with higher-level stuff for the last few months and I'm looking to move lower now. PHP was derived from C so I'm sure learning C wouldn't be all that difficult.

Adobe flex is really cool for developing websites. We use it here at work for our inhouse mapping website

Text is way too small. Needs to be readable from a car-length or two away.

And btw, don't save graphics in JPEG. JPEG uses lossy compression which leads to funky-looking solid colors. Use GIF, PNG, TIFF, or BMP.

Pretty much all programming languages are based on C. You'll probably find that our speed generator program is written in C.

If you want to start at the bottom get yourself a copy of "visual basic", it's really easy to use, especially if you have experience with higher level stuff, & has lots of real world applications.

Learning is never a bad thing; the more you know, the more you can do
