Hello there :D I'm 16 and new to building karts and I am trying get a kart working for my little brother.I have a kart without an engine that I plan on putting my new 6.5 lifan clone on(Sorry, dont know how to post pics but they're in my profiles alblum).
Right now it has a dead axle on it, so I'm going to attempt to convert it to a live axle. Well I need some help with my wheel selection, as it has 4" wheels with 9x3.50-4 tires all around so I think I have to replace the rear wheels. I would like to know what axle, and wheels I need to buy that are compatable for the new rear end I'm to put on the kart, as well as where to order them. Also, I'm on a budget so please nothing to expensive:D

Hi Alaska, welcome to the forum. I had a look at the pics of your kart, and I was just wondering if there was any particular reason why you would like to convert it to a live axle kart? If you are just going to be riding on road, then there is no need for this. Off-road is different. Dead axle karts don't work well off-road.

If you do go for the live axle, you are going to need a keyed axle, probably 3/4", as well as hubs and rims. You will also need hangers or pillow block bearings to attach the axle to the kart.

Do a search for "live axle conversion" on the site, and you will get lots of info

Well, I plan on converting to axle because it will be sent to the village I'm from where there's no pavement, only dirt. Sorry for the late reply, I've been having multiple health issues lately and I'm going to be hospitalized tommorow for my kidneys. So, I may not be able to even start this project for awhile, sorry for possibly wasting your time.
