Your clutch sounds like its gone completely. You can either get a new one, or push start it and play around with dd.

Vids would help something tells me you are doing something very very obvious to everyone but yourself wrong. Try opening the clutches and see what the problem is.

That's really odd...MAX-TORQUE is what I use (¾ and ⅝) on anything other than Lawn-Boy engines.
Never any problems what-so-ever.
I wonder what you were pounding so hard that you managed to break a hammer(?).

I was pounding the clutch to get it off the crankshaft because it wasn't working

Provided pto isn't damaged, clutch should slide on/off with just a little effort.
I suggest getting some emery cloth and remove any high or low spots. Pto should be smooth for entire length.
Check shaft diameter and clutch bore with caliper.
PS. Get rid of hammer and use a dead blow mallet. Never ever pound on end of crankshaft.

No, Im afraid YOU are. He expected you to measure with something can go down to .001" there has to be a few thou of play or the tow wont go together. The crank should be smooth file down any imperfections.

Please tell me ya loosened the retainer screws first!
