Is it okay to buy a 100" cable? Because every time I buy one, it's too short. So I want to make sure this time and I'm wondering if the cable is too lengthy, it won't work properly.

Bingo. If the cable is too long or convoluted, it will have too much friction and cause you problems. Buy too long, and cut to length.
TIP: Go to any store (including WalMart) and buy a universal bicycle brake cable kit. Last I checked it was about $5.00 (here, anyway) and should be enough. Cut to length, 'way you go.
