I'm am also looking for a engine for it if anyone has any ideas where I can find one, the guy I bought it from said the motor is locked up so not sure if I would be possible to rebuild or just easier to replace

Looks like you have some variation of a Honda odyssey FL250. Pretty good buggies, definitely worth fixing it up. Wait for a fellow named Bighead, he is our resident odyssey expert. He will probably be able to tell you a lot about the frame, and how you should go about fixing it up.

You have a class 2 Honda Odyssey Fl250 Challenger style car. I say style for yours is a home brew or copy and not the kit challenger sold. It could be a kit but it is one I never seen. And from the square tubing J-arms I am thinking it is not a kit.

Post pics of the axle. The J-arms look to copy of challenger arms as well. Don't fret though. It is a very nice car. Not sure why the gas tank is upside down though. The fl250's with no rear suspension were perfect for flat track racing.

Post pics of the J-arms and the front shock mounts and the rear axle.

I have some engine cores for sale. They will need rebuilt. $50 plus shipping. (no clutch)

I would put a sled engine it. Buy a whole sled and do the swap.

It's got some really nice bead lock rear wheels. I want them....

What did you pay for it?

I agree. A snowmobile engine would be a nice way to go, but as Bighead said, buy the whole sled. I picked up 2 in the last year, both here in St. Louis (not known for snowmobile riding). I paid $100 for a Polaris 340cc and $200 for a Kawasaki 440cc. If you get the whole sled, you get everything you need including clutches and motor mounts.

The Break down on your car.

Stock J-arms with wider main bar that J-arms slide onto.
Stock axle welded to make wider
Stock reduction unit with stock salsbury clutch. (square washer needs to be looked at)
Never seen the shock mounts but kind of cool. I would like to see bar longer and welded to frame though. Sweet how you can adjust by sliding down the cage bar.
Save the pull starter there worth money
Save the slide for carb body is cheaper than whole carb
Very nice bead lock wheels. (big money)
Stock tie rods welded to make longer.

So yah I think your car is a home brew of a Challenger car. It is well done car that looks nice. They did not have the money to buy all the fancy challenger parts or the kit.

You could buy an engine on ebay for about $300. But most those do not have the Stator and coils. I see you have a CDI style coil so those engines are even harder to find with the CDI Stator and magneto. Sometimes I see complet engine with everything even clutch sale for about $300.

Then you need a CDI box if it's not on your frame now. Carb as well. To get that car running you need

FL250 engine with CDI type stator and magneto
FL250 carb
CDI box
FL250 primary clutch
Belt

Thats not going to be cheap on Ebay. See if you can find a local fl250 engine. You can go to poiunts style and it will be lots cheaper for stator and mag.

Here is a vid how I added a sled engine into my fl250. Do you have welder?

If you do not have fab skills then try to find the fl250 engine. It's going to cost you about $500 plus on ebay though.

I have a core engine you could rebuild for $50. It cost $250 to rebuild one. My core engine will come with 6v points style stator and mag. The CDI style is 12v.
