Ok, still 16 years old here. My and dad bought me this 68 camaro after I wrecked the Ford. I originally wanted a mustang since the fairlane was gone, but this is where my deep rooted GM roots come from.

1968 RS. Bought from my next door neighbor Max Evans for $400
and put a $400 paint job on in it in around 1979-1980.
Things were cheaper back then.
This car had the stock 2 bbl 327 turbo fire 210 HP with power glide. Sold the car a few years later to a buddy for the same $400 I gave for it.

Yup thats me.

After I sold that car, I bought me for $2500 at age of 18 (got it on my birthday and bought it myself) another 1968 camaro. This one had the 4 speed saginaw, muncie four speed shifter with reverse lock out. Had a stroker 350 with solid lift. This car at the time was the baddest of all bad cars in my town. I used to clean house on friday nights at $20 a pop!
Do not have any before shots. At a young age of 18 I started to realize I had a drinking problem. My friends dared me to do "Something crazy" well here is what happens when you mix the dare devil in you with alcohol, and influence of friends. I made a 360 in the middle of the cruising spot, than another 180..... Lined up with the curb...
On the back side of the curb less than ONE foot was a telephone pole...
YUP... I barely got on top of the curb once I straigntened the car up from doing circles, and BOOM!
This rest is history. My friends still tease me of this day as "pole climber" ect.

Car number three..
My folks felt sorry for me when I tore up my car, so mom shelled out $3200 and bought me this one. This one had a stock 327, 3 speed on the floor.

ok.. drove that nice car a while..
Then one rainy night in my hometown I was out cruisin' around the drag. Well on one of our streets next to a DAIRY QUEEN SIGN Guess what?
YUP! I am attracted to POLES!
A buddy that had just bought a 289 65 mustang pulled up next to me to mess around... Well we were in a curve on wet asphalt. I was not drinking at all but soon as I mashed the gas just a tad to gain speed, we went around the curve and slid up over the curb and you guessed it. Right into the DQ sign.

So....what to do? Knew my folks did not have the money to help me out so I did what any teen would do. Went out in the back yard and took the other crashed camaro, tore it down, and the recently crashed camaro, gutted it and put the parts in the second camaro I had bought.
Used a different subframe I bought seperatly and started piecing it back together again.

MY SEVEN YR YOUNGER BRO POSING IN FRONT OF MY CAR

Had the body work done, painted the car 1982 Corvette Blue Bright Blue Metallic with custom paint blend silver stripes.

Wipers went out of it. When I sold it I had went through two build high compression 327 with roller rockers. I had dropped the 4 speed and went with a turbo 400, Pete Jackson Gear Drive. Sold The car for $3k I believe in 1984.

After that Trans Am If I remember right I bought a Black 1980
VW SciroccoS. Had a 1200 CC water cooled vw engine.
This is not my original car, but a photo for reference.

Sold the VW to finance my next 1968 Camaro.

This is one of my fave toys I had. This is a real 1968 RS SS.
Front Disk brakes, and had a tilt wheel from a corvette.
Had original Deluxe Interior Pkg.
This car when I had it did not have its original Big Block, but a hot 350 with turbo 350. 11:1 Pop ups and Cam.

Then family obligations came along, and sold the camaro for the amount I gave for it in 1986 for $4k. cash.

After that, I had to have another toy so I decided to go with another 1979 TA as I enjoyed the last one so much.
Stock TA, turbo 350 with 403 Olds.

Only thing on this one it was a repaint and did not have the bird like my blue one did.

Eh...cant find the photo but ill find it later and post it here.

Got tired of the IROC, bought another 1982 Camaro...
After the 1982 Camaro I bought me a new B220 Mazda extended cab pickup and got into the mini truck scene.
Traded the Mazda mini truck even for this toy,
a 1986 IROC with red interior and T Tops.

Drove the 86 White IROC a couple of years. Since it did not have AC I decided I wanted a car with ac. Still needing a toy fix, I traded the IROC towards a 1997 Trans Am.
Had the TA Converted to the look of a 1998-2002 Trans Am.

Notice that Suncoast Creations (www.suncoastcreations.com) liked my idea so much they took the photo of my car and used it in HIGH PONTIAC PERFORMANCE magazine without letting me know about it.

ok.. from the Green TA..
It was my daily driver for 5 years. Loved every minute of it but I started to get a craving for my roots again..
Another 1968 RS Camaro.. IT had to be an RS, so I started searching. All I had to drive at the time was the 97.
It was worth about $7200 at the time so I was like where am I possibly gonna get a driver 68 camaro for $7200 OR a trade?
Well I decided it was worth a try.
I wanted to buy a 68 and paint it black with white stripes.
I had to. I already knew what I wanted the car to look like two years prior to me even finding a 68. I found one 1968 RS conversion for $19,000!
Im like....wow...they are high..
So bound and determined I could make it happen I looked, and looked. Then one night at work on ebay, I was searching ebay motors through all the ads and all the cars were high dollar cars.
I would be lucky to find anything in the $7k range for a project let alone a daily driver. Then luck stepped in or fate or what have you. I came back from my lunch break and sat down at my work station. I hit the "refresh" on my browser and there it was! They had just listed a white 68 camaro rs with 327 and no bids! The auction started off at $7k!
Here the original auction photos:

So where are the crash photos of the newer ones?

Kidding, aside, that's impressive that you've survived all those practically scratch free.
