Vintage Tecumseh H40 parts needed

I'm in need of a bolt-on recoil start (pull-start) for a Tecumseh H40 engine. I also need to know what air cleaner will fit the original carb. I plan to make an exhaust pipe to divert the heat away from the back of my seat.

Is there any way to add a 12 volt electric start to an older H40?

Anyone know where I can find these parts? Thanks, Chris.

Ebay? To add electric start is more trouble and money then its worth, I mean come on its a 4hp. You would need a charging coil, starter, new flywheel, and maybe some other junk.

Many parts still available through sites such as http://www.m-and-d.com/.
Electric start is real expensive. Engine is super easy to start without e-start...2-3 pulls max, assuming everything is to spec.
Not worth the money...my opinion.

Well, I'm not really as interested in e-start as figuring out a way to possibly charge a battery to run several lights. Any thoughts on that? Thanks!

Like a generator? Try a 12 volt car alternater .

4 hp is kinda' small to be diving an alternator.

well, you could find a charge coil and flywheel to run lights.

try ebay..

you could always use a rechargeable 12v and a charger when you arent driving it.
