Hey guys, I went and built an exhaust pipe to day. The other day I had found a bunch of scrap bits with a few bends of some EMT conduit. I had made a header flange and a exhaust gasket of copper. I wasnt really sure what was going on when I was building but I just sorta rolled with it. In the last while I had been looking at exhaust building and the various types on how they ar fitted and put together.
It was about 2' long, 1 1/8OD conduit. It sound like it might be a larger motor cycle than it actually is. Kinda has a hot rod like idle, but I reckon it needs some baffling or a muffler can put on to make more back pressure.
When I gun it, it wants to die, but when I apply some throttle then giver, it jumps and barks pretty good. Other than that its nice and Im impressed with myself as this is a first.

The other day I had drilled and installed some wing nuts on my fender and brake linkage's, I drilled them so I could put some locking wire and have an interesting look to them. I also used some wire to hold on the tail pipe to the fender strut.

I gaver another ride around the block with the new pipe. It hauls pretty good. it also definatlly lets people know ur about.

Lastly, I also found an office chair down the block in the alley. It has a leather seating surface and the hydraulics were good, the only thing wrong with it was the seat was cracked in half and broken at where the base bolts on, so I guess why it was out in the alley. I had used the lifter to fix another one in the house, the seat back I had taken apart because it was going to be the material for the bike seat. What a wicked score. About a 1/4 hide, this could make 2 seats for me if I needed.
Ill try to get some pics of it being ridden or a vid. I might put one on the you tube sometime soon.

hey guys, another update.
I had made another post about making sure your keys are locked down or held fast by what ever means, http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=12433 .
I was out in the shop earlier, really wanting to go out and have a ride, but the the axle was f 'ed or so I thought..... Poking around after moving some junk around I had noticed a short bit of pipe with a 1" bore. I was looking at this and I went and checked if by chance it might fit the axle. It did and pretty smoothly. So after a few min I was trying to figure if I could make some jig to hold and press the tire hub off, kinda pissed about it Ill try slamming it on the anvil, kinda like a slide hammer effect.. Who ya... It moved a tiny bit. I did a few time to be sure it moved and sure enough after about 10 min of heavy pounding I got the hub off of the axle. It turned out pretty good. I spent about 30min filing and polishing the grooves, gall rub marks and mushroomed ends.

I just finished putting it all back together, and gave it a freewheel test on the lift just to celebrate getting it all back on functional.

I tell ya, I am pretty stoked about getting this almost completed. I am going to work on the seat shortly, as I plan to go to a local car and bike show soon to show it off of my handywork.

Lesson of the day people. KEEP YOUR KEYS LOCKED DOWN. by any means necessary...

2 pc split type locking collars; one on each side of the hub to keep the key from escaping. It's down and dirty, and it won't help if you shear the key, but it might keep you from walking home.

Desperation is the mother of crazy invention. We used this to band aid the drive pulley on our grain bin unloading auger. 9:30 P.M.- 2 more semi's to load and the spring frost laws were going into effect the next morning (which would have meant 3 to 4 weeks late deliv. penalty on the grain contract:ack2:).

Come to think of it, you could probably tack weld one half of one to the hub to get more clamping bite on the shaft :idea2:.

well I had a great time at the car and motorcycle show n shine yesterday. It was really hot out and there was about 5-10k or more people showing up to the event. I had a ton of fun learned a few thing from some folks and everyone who stopped had a great time looking at the bike. All were amazed about what it was made from and how it all came together, it was pretty cool.

I had to park the truck in the adjacent parking lot, got it unloaded from the truck, started and made my way over to my position.

I tell you, the looks I got from all of the other bikers, of riding various harleys and few others, was kinda unnerving but I rode in there like I knew what was happining and went to my spot.

I got an end picket and It was great exposure.
I was constantly talking to people about my bike, so I didnt take many pics of the show, I also didnt see much of the show cause I was talking about my bike.
Over all I had a great time.

Thanks, man. It goes at least 50km. I reckon I could go faster, but I didnt want to potentially Kill myself.
I passed a car in the neighborhood they had a funny look on there face's, a couple of days later, the next door neighbor stoped me out on a ride and threaten to call the cops if I was riding out again. I havent rode since but I do start it up and giver hell about ever weekend.

So far I burned through a whole tank of gas, I just figured to keep the fluids moving and the action sound. Probably have less that 24hr total on the motor.

I had to make a hub for the tire and another hub for the disc brake, these hubs comprised of an weld-on hub for a sprocket that I bought at princess auto and a plate of steel.

I'm looking to do this very thing on my chopper. I'd love to see a pictorial or plan of how you made the rear wheel and got it true. I've got a 15" donut that should make a nice rear wheel.

I have in mind to try using a pitbike engine. I have a couple to choose from....a 2 stroke with an integrated CVT....or...a 4 stroke single speed auto.

I'm undecided. The 2 stroke will have a better speed range due to the CVT and might be quicker off the mark. But, the 4 stroke will be a lot cleaner and I won't have to deal with fuel mixing.

Any input is appreciated!

Hauntman, theo172, thank you for bumping my thread.
But with all due fairness, Please start your own threads, and if you have questions about my thread, by all means ask away here or on a PM to me.

Hauntman, I did reply to your PM, so thank once again.

As for my thread I am thinking in the(hopefully) next few months to start another build like this one, and Ill explain a few other bits I didnt in this thread, predominantly with the rear wheel/axle setup since this a popular topic .

AWESOME!
I miss one thing though:

A speedometer connected to the front wheel sprocket with a bike-chain
(of course with a visible worm gear ;))

other than that... great ride!

I'll be a happy follower on your new bike for sure.

Thanks, I was thinking I need an adapter for a disc brake with the cassette thread for the rear hub. I know there is adapters for the cassette to a shaft w/ disc brake hub, but none that Ive seen yet for just a brake hub to the rear tire hub.
I havent really gone out much for riding so my brakes on the front will suffice for now, they basically are a parking brake, I mostly have gone out to motorcycle shows.

Im also working out some carb issues aswell(on another thread), but trying to recover after a car accident couple of weeks ago.

Yesterday I saw a little bicycle computer at wallmart, about $20. It seemed like a cool device for a speedo/trip meter, might have bought it but Im a little broke, mostly went into a new car.
