HELP! TC wont fit my HF correctly.

OK so i got a HF 6.5. and when i went to put my TC on. with the spacer it wont let me put the screw in the shaft. with it off it puts the clutches way out of alignment.

What can i do?. longer scew?or smaller spacer?

do you have some pictures? if i remember correctly the driver and driven aren't supposed o be aligned perfectly.

you know that piece of the driver that you screw into the shaft? looks like a piece of shaft.
It dosent reach the shaft. im not sure if a longer bolt will work because the piece of shaft that the bolt goes through still would not reach. and a smaller spacer could work but would still be unaligned.

sounds to me like your crank is too short, i remember hearing a similar problem a while back. try cutting the bushing down, its not like its an expensive part so if you ruin it you can easily buy / make a new one.

yeah. its too short. but i dont want to un-align the clutchs.

On my kart the same as yours. I just added some spacers on the shaft to push the clutch out. I think, The kart is not here right now. My nephew is ridding it this weekend.

no i mean the shaft is too short to fit the clutch with its spacer,but with out the spacer the Clutches are out of alignment.

blaz said longer bolt,the piece the bolt goes though not the driver itself but the piece of the driver it goes through still wouldnt reach.

i could find an old crank cut a small piece of it and put it in there to fill the gap.

does it need to be on the shaft all the way? Not sure I added some spacers on my clone and it bolted right up? I do not think my clutch was all the way on the shaft though. I will have to look when I get the kart back for reapairs after the holiday.

anticipating he's gonna break something?lol. well thats the thing. it only slides on like 1/4in on the shaft.(the out part of it) so idk what to do. i will make a vid.

Series 30 driver clutches only need the remaining piece (held on by the main hub itself) be supported by 1/4" of the shaft. Most shafts are not longer than 2 and 7/16ths. This is very common, just buy a longer bolt, lockwasher, and very sturdy washer.
