I always liked the name dave. I wished I had it. 1701 is the registry numbers on the USS Enterprise on star trek.

Mine is pretty boring, but I work for a large forestry company in their mapping department, and the geographic data that we use is arranged in a sort of computer model that our software can recognise and display. We call it our Landuse model. It is a word I type a hundred times a day, so I though I might as well use it for all my usernames. Like everyone else here, I have now been using it for years.

Funny how these things stick to you.

I know I have given my explanation before, but I thought some of the noobs might want to see. Most people don't read long threads like this from the start

mine's pretty boring, when i first moved to chile people called me miguel, the spanish variation of my name, and when i created my first web account i decided to use it, but since i didn't speak much spanish i misspelled it :D i found out later, but it stuck, and i add numbers for uniqueness :roflol:

I got a big head. A huge mellon that has had me teased my whole life. So I just went with it many years ago.

I too am plagued by this same issue. I wear about a 7 1/2 size fitted hat! :ack2:

My story is that I liked the Boston Redsox a while back (not so much now, those Buccos are at .500), I used the name for everything, and now nearly everything is redsox985 so there's no point changing IMO. 985...I don't remember where that came from. I think it used to be 589, but that was taken somewhere so I flipped it.
