Or you could just sell it and buy an air or radiator cooled sled/atv/bike engine that will not overheat unless there is a malfunction...

Newer sea doos have closed loop systems but they use a heat exchanging plate on the bottom of the craft that is always in contact with cold water.

I guess without anymore speculating is to get stats for the engine. Go from there.

Are you useing the watercrafts pipe? Are they water cooled? Perhaps the water is heated before in enters the head?

Boat motors run on cold water just fine. But the outlet hole is really small. When running a boat motor in a 55g barrel we hook the garden hose up at full blast. It it looks like it is pissing out the outlet hole. 1/4 at the largest.

Thats a lot of drag for a pump right? Perhaps a return line in the system? Or what type pump you going to use? What temp do you think your radiator will run at?

Also your belt setup? how do you think that will work? I never seen it before and was wondering.

how does a snowmobile cool off lol electric fan and radiator

Sure but it is not used to cold water all the time. So your adding say 170 deg water to the normal running temp? Does not sound right to me. Just like if I ran cold water in my engine all the time. It would never warm up. What is the running temp of your motor?

That being said I have no clue if it will work or not. Just thinking out loud if you will.

My sled is air cooled

im using an aux pump for mecedes electric pump and the watercraft pipe if ya see in the pic i got lucky because the pipe is stainless and not aluminum with water jacket so i pluged the feed hole the sprays in the exhaust and it will circulate still

bighead the belt setup principle is just the same as 30+ years on your basic riding lawnmowers

It would be but the blocks are also cast different.

The water jackets on the open blocks have smaller veins running through it. Less water but the water is a constant cool temperature. Closed loop systems have a larger water jacket to allow more heat to be absorbed at a slower rate and transferred to the cooling device be it a heat exchanging plate or radiator.

OP seems dead set though. Going to need a big radiator I think. Reading other forums and info on the subject leads me to believe that it's harder then just hooking up a pump fan and radiator. Flow issues and regulating temperature in these motors isn't an easy thing.

Think about it. you would need all this stuff to setup a jet ski motor. but u could get a bike or sled motor and would not take as much to hook it up. and u would have spare money for other parts. and your preformance still comes out better. agree that its not impossible to setup the ski motor. its just impractical.

on sea doos the are the same blocks and jugs and heads only diff is the exhaust they use the same engine on ultralight airplanes from snowmobiles but in order to use one from a jet ski ya have to put a water pumpimpellar with it not my first rodeo lol

Thats not the point. I mean if u want to do all of the mods needed to make it work then have fun. but your just makeing it harder on your self.

And u still wont have as good preformance.and u would get a gear box wth the other Motors.
