Work has gotten in the way, ... I had to bust out a couple of working prototypes so my free time has been scarce.

Hey T-man, I'm alive and well.
Thanks for asking. Project has been on hold for past month due to lousy weather and work schedule among other things. I need to find inside work area to complete. Engine mount needs to be completed and frame painted. I have had to do a bit of traveling last few months as well, but I hope to get back on track here soon.Regards

wow, this thread was a kinda a long read, but I deffinately enjoyed every minute of it!
2 cups of coffee later, and 12:30 in the mornin, hehe, i gotta say what i seen so far is great!
Now you guys got me thinkin i should be building one from scratch instead of rebuilding the dingo thingy. I was originaly looking for ideas/info on how to extend the kart i have, while adding in a suspension. lol
Awesome job, and cant wait to see this thing finished up! And happy to know this little gem sits here in Canada!

EDIT:
one thing i didnt get, is all the toying around with those darn brackets.. especialy in regards to the front a-arms.
I think i would suggested using say 3/8 or (your judgement on size here) plate. cut little squares, like 2" x 2" or tubing was 1.25"?? so say 1.25 x 1.25, four for each arm, tack all 4 together all nice and flush, place on drill press, drill hole for bolt, zip off tack and just weld them straight to the frame after lining all up etc
(perhaps a chunk of correct size flatbar, cut in to the right lengths..)
I think it woulda worked out to be far tougher, and simpler, if not even a bit quicker.

Primarily family in the the province of Quebec, few trips within the province to work on my sailboat in Saint John. Getting it ready for winter. Cover frame was destroyed last year after a heavy snowfall, followed by rain, then more snow. Aluminum frame collapsed. I used 1" Sched 40 aluminum pipe to rebuild the frame, about 400 feet in all.

It will probably be spring before I get it completed now, unless I can find some inside space to work. Too cold to paint. Just had 10 inches (yes inches) of rain here the past few days. Just happy it wasn't snow.
In retrospect, you are absolutely correct. They could have been built as you described a whole lot easier, and better. There are definitely better designs out there than this one.

Theo, the tube is 2.5 inches high.

Not sure what a conversion factor would be, wind plays a big factor with the snow, more than the rain. Your estimate is probably quite reasonable. Another week has passed since the rains, and we did get more, but the past 4 days have been above average (warm & sunny)
for this time of year. Even so, the ground still acts like I am walking on a wet sponge.

this thread has been dead a long time, most of these users arent active on this site anymore. If you need to ask these questions then try and PM them, they might repond. MAny people probably wont give you their plans anyway.
besides, these plans are available online, just search the internet and avoid bringing up long dead threads.

These plans have ben bought by people. They are not just going to be giving them away. If you look on the net you will be able to buy these plans relatively cheaply

Is this your first kart? I would look on craigslist for a pre fabbed frame unless you are very competent in your fabrication skills.
look on th etop left of the posts, that is date they were posted. Please try to not bring up dead threads.
Why don't you try to start a thread in the introduction section of the forum. You should get a lot more help in that section.
