Increase speed from 40 to 80mph

Can we just get him up to 80 MPH, let him $#!+ his pants, then swap back to his current set up and be happy with the respectable 40 MPH. I suggest something like a 250cc bike or a small sled engine. Plenty of torque and top end.

Find a r1 engine and and a racing go Kart frame

Bolt it all together and see what you got

It will be a hell of a ride if you can control it

If you seriously want to be faster, find a quad engine

well swap that tiny briggs twin for somthing bigger like a 250cc bike engine
(personly id say the v8 is still the best option)

If your clutch is up to the added stress... all you'd need to hit 50+ on that kart is a smaller rear sprocket. (what brand/model clutch are ya running?)

From the calculator it should already be doing 52mph, I entered that it has 10" wheels tho not sure how to measure the wheels but the diameter of the wheel seems to be 10" TEETH ON AXLE is 35, teeth on clutch wheel 17, Engine RPM 3600

Okay- First off, how do you know how fast you are actually going? Maybe you ARE capping out at 52? Secondly, if you're geared too high, you may only hit 52 after a loooong stretch of road. Come to think of it, that could be it right there. Axle sprocket is 35T, clutch sprocket is 17? That's 2:1 (loosely). Way too high, in my opinion. I'm amazed your clutch hasn't spontaneously combusted. You'll have to check with a race kart guy like Anderkart, but I really do think that's far too high.

You are lucky to have a kart like that for your knowledge level. I would highly suggest learning more about the motor and the parts that make it up before you go any further.

I can tell you an instant power gain is to put a stock 2 barrel carb on that. That is the only limiting factor of you having 18hp. A stock carb off of a 20hp or 23hp will put you at 20hp instantly. Is the motor ungoverned or does it only turn 3600rpm?

with the ratteo he has he should curently be hitting 70 but acceleration must be horrible

just change the gear ratio on the axle . youve got all the power youll ever need. you dont wanna to 80 though thats a crazy number for any gocart. You need a chain guard aswell. and thats no joke

so all i need is the carb changed and it will increase hp alright now what is going on with my clutch it does not burn up and from what i know it engages at 2k rpm.
