It was my dads :)

It gets 44.6MPG with four people and luggage... I think it does great.

BUT, under ANY acceleration whatsoever it actually registers ~5-10MPG ROFL.

Oh and it drove out... amplifier in the car blew, but everything else functional.

Oh, and anybody who plans on buying a Nissan 2.5... eh, don't. Electrics blew in about 4" of water.

The Prius did have about 4" of water in it though :)

I dont care how much crap it has in it, a regular car should (and could) be able to get better than that. A car that expensive should get at least 60-70. And by the time you start to get your moneys worth, you end up having to replace the batteries.

I hope you plan on flushing everything and zepping electronic connections within view... Things may work now but will not work in a few months if nothing is done.

This Prius isn't affected with the pedal problem, lol. nub.

It's a nice vehicle. You guys should be dissing the '09 GAS Nissan 2.5 that killed itself... the water wasn't even up to the bottom door seals yet, quite unlike the Prius ;)

I think it did well. Seeing as half the engine and motor were submerged.

By far the worst automotive repair I have ever tackled was dash removal, there is a reason why it is $1000 labor to change an evaporator core.

i must agree with kenny... dashboard removal on newer fancy cars... aka anything with a plasitc dash... is a pain in the ***

It would be far better if they designed the HVAC system in such a way that the evap core, heater core and fan could be removed without removing the dash. At least one of the 3 will fail before the car's useful life has expired.

THAT'S IT!!
the vw diesels get like 50mpg and have about the same hp as the priuses total hp

my opinion is that hybrids really aren't the way to go they are expensive up front and in 10 years they are going to need new batteries that'll be expensive if you really want something fuel effiecient get a little diesel car less up front and a diesel will last for 300,000 miles without problems fat chance of those batteries lasting that

i really with the diesel car thing would catch on so more companies would make them.

dont forget diesel engines are mechanicaly WAY WAY WAY FREAKING SIMPLER and theres not much to go wrong... we have a few trucks in school that hit over 1,000,000 miles... and they are fine.

I heard somewhere that the production of Hummer is easier on the environment than a Prius. Apparently the batteries can't be built in one place, the raw materials for them are in several different countries so they are shipped all over the world for manufacturing. So "supposedly", for that reason, the manufacturing of the Prius is more hurtful to the enviroment than a hummer, Or alot of other cars for that matter.

I'm not sure how much truth there is to that, even if there is none, They are still pointless, It has to be nearly impossible to ever benefit from good gas milage after the initial cost of a new Prius.

Sure, a person may be able to argue that its more "enviromental friendly" but not economical, or that it saves money.

Theres dozens of cars, purely gas burning ones, Older cars too, that make almost or as good of milage as a prius and at a fraction of the cost. Its ridiculous

Diesel volkswagons got over 40mpg Back in THE 80'S!
Hell, An late 80's Crown Vic 302 v8 can get 28mpg Highway
Crown Victorias are Big heavy cars too, that still blows my mind.
I know the old ford fiestas were burning gas and getting 40+mpgs

You think they would be wayyyy ahead of the Prius as far as milage goes by now.
