**** why a month

I was out with mono... if someone woulda pushed me or something my pancris probaly woulda ruptured... i think thats the organ that mono makes swell up... also makes you tired as hell also...

I don't know where you when to high school, but you must not have taken any Algebra 2 or Spanish 200. No one can say those classes are "piss easy" with a strait face.

In Spanish 3 I ended up with an B for both semesters, and a B first semester in Algebra II Honors and a A the second semester. It's easy o_O

Although the Spanish 3 teacher was an absolute :censored:

remember algebra is useless! the only time finding x is usefull is when your a pirate.

I've found Algebra useful already. Once I realized the potential and USES of it, *jizz*. But that's probably because I'm actually attempting to use it...

I have trouble with Conics, all them hyperbolas and crap

It's easy. I haven't looked at that for 2-3 weeks... but just remember that a circle has NO coefficient in front of the X and Y (standard form). Numbers after X and Y = vertex but remember it's X - (whatever number). If it's an X+4... = -4. After finding the center, the number on the right is r^2. Square root that, done.

For ellipses, finding the center is the same. You WILL have fractions (X+2)/4 or something similar to that. This one has both the fractions ADDED together. The numbers below are the A and B (but squared). Find the square root, and whatever axis it is under (let's say X+2/4), 2 is the square root of 4, and it's "below" the X (the X+2 part), and corresponds to the X axis (so from the designated center, move 2 to the left and right). Same with Y axis. To find focii, take the A^2 - B^2 and find the square root of the C^2 you get.

For uhm... parabolas, you end up with ONE "curved line" pretty much. IIRC, these are something like x - 5 = 1/4 (y + 4), ect. ect.

Just remember that if the X is the first variable you see, it's going to be horizontal (same case with parabolas). But if it's a y (such as: y - 5 = 1/4 (x+4), it will be a vertical parabola.

Find center the same way (but remember, the x and y will correspond to the number they are WITH. Sometimes they're flipped, you just saw). Then you must find the asymptote... it's always BEHIND the parabola (the "butt" of it). If the fraction (the 1/4 in this part) is NEGATIVE, it will go either DOWN (if it's a vertical parabola), or to the LEFT (if it's a horizontal parabola), and the opposite if it is positive (like in this case).

You're wanting to find "c" right now. From the center, move that much horizontally/vertically and you'll find the asymptote. Just solve for 1/4c = 1/4 (the 1/4c you always use, and the 1/4 from the equation you are given). Move that much INTO the parabola, and then multiply the "c" value by l(4c)l (absolute value of c*4), and then divide that by half and move it across the point that is "in" the parabola.

PITA to understand over the internet. I would do hyperbolas but that would probably cause the servers to crash...

I still have all my "how to do step by step" pages of these if you want me to scan/send them to you :cheers2:

Algebra is a piece of cake if you have the RIGHT teacher.

Thanks a bunch. I have this teacher who is right out of collage, she's hot but thats about all she's good for. Can't teach a lick. For the hyperbolas I neeed figure out how to graph them when they give me equation and get the vertices and asymtotes and stuff. Also, they tell me to right an equation for a hyperbola and they give me something like this:

Center: (8,-2)

A value is 7

B value is 3

any Idea how to do that?


I have a final next week friday and need to learn all of this

Dude, here is my deal. I 2 friends who did not graduate from high school, they're screwed from even joining the military now. It really limits you. Those who say a GED counts for the same thing are joking you, just put up with what is going on and finish, PERIOD.

I know a GED isnt the same. What i would probably do is get a ged so i can go to tech school. Sure, it may be hard to get a white collar or food service job w/out a high school diploma, but with a ged and a degree in diesel mechanics, a blue collar job wouldnt be hard to come by.
