I'm in the market for a buttpad for my motorcycle. :lolgoku:

But I'm thinking.. I can either "buy" a pre-made buttpad or I can just order a sheepskin pelt online and just cut my own. the sheep skin would cost about the same amount as a pre-made pad and I could cover my WHOLE seat. since my seat is custom on my motorcycle, so companys that sell pre-made sheepskin buttpads aren't gonna have my shape..

but at the same time. :surrender: If I order a whole pelt... I would also want to order some specialty foams and Re-do my whole seat again. I've learned a bit more on material and foam choices and what I like and dislike about my current model.

and instead of being fancy with my stitching I'd just do a plain vinyl and create a sheep skin "pillow" over top of the whole thing.

I'm not sure what to do.. there's a lot that goes into making a good seat you're willing to do 500 mile days in...

I think the picture needs no explanation.

It's probably best to buy a premade one. Making seats sucks (coming from someone who makes seats for his go karts).

What about visiting an upholstry shop?

I already make my own seats too. AND do it for others as a side bi- job... :lolgoku:

I even got a second hand upholstery machine [I started on a normal sewing machine], tho I need to get a big-butt table so I can spread larger stuff out and stop using the dinning table...

I actually really like sewing, wish I had more reasons to do it... but I like upholstery sewing, not clothing making... :ack2:
