I have a yerf dog that i put on a 10hp briggs and stratton engine. I took off the cvt clutch and added a chain and sprocket. The cvt would not move the heavy engine. The axle already had a 60Tooth sprocket going to a 10Tooth smaller sprocket. This small sporcket had the belt pulley on its opposite end. I changed the pulley and added a 48 tooth sprocket, and it goes to a 10tooth centrifugal clucth on engines shaft.the kart has no acceleration.it moves and the engine responds to throttle but no go.What am i missing when i changed the belt pulley to sprocket and cvt clutch to sprocket centrifugal clutch.Any help would be greatly appreciated. New to the site and thought someone could help.Thanks.

:useless:

First question: Why would you remove a cvt & replace it with a centrifugal clutch?

X 2

You now have a 10T clutch and 48T axle sprocket. Why did you do that. You have just geared your kart to 4.8:1 which is WAAAAAY high. You are never going to get your kart moving. You would have been much better with the 60T on your axle.

What size diameter tyrres have you got?

yeah this engine has a 60T sprocket on its axle that goes to a 10T sprocket towards the rear. then at the other end of the 10T sprocket was a pulley, and it went to the shaft that had a cvt clutch. the belt would not move the machine,so a changed the pulley to a 48T sprocket and got a 10T centirfugal clutch. should i use another 60T sprocket set up like the one coming from the axle?
18 inch diameter tires.

Stick with the 60t sprocket and 10t 'sprocket towards the rear'

The first thought that came to my mind wat:
WHAT!!!!!!:2guns:

The second thought that came to my mind is:

You need to seriously look at how you set up the torque converter, and its gotta be a 40 or 44 series or it is bound to fail. a 10 hp engine w18 inch tires and a 6 to 1 gear ratio will almost peel out when you punch the gas.... so....

The answer to all of your problems lies here: try to read and understand it ALL, but focus on the 40 series section

If you did the 40 series conversion right, it should resemble the attached picture, thanks whoever i stole the picture from.

If you had used a sprocket that was the same diameter as the pulley, you would probably have been OK.
