wrong tool for the job

I thought using a box end ratcheting wrench was a good idea until I tried to take it off.

It went on the nut easy because the bolt could tip over to the side and make room. I didn't think ahead to figure out tightening the nut would stand it up and lock it under the flange on the engine block, until it was too late.
After about an hour of inappropriate use of tools I was able to remove it. The wrench survived without issue. I swore it was going to be sacrificed. The engine is scarred for life...

LOOL, a buddy had to drill out a bolt because of that happening to him on his car.
luckily he had access to the other side...
anywho,
that's when I decided to not get me a set of those

Not enough room for my ratchet..
certainly a good chance to lock in a ratcheting wrench by accident

Ratcheting wrenches are great tools when room is not an issue. Ratchets and sockets are great, long as you have enough deep well and shallow sockets to use. Hey, at least you didn't need to break out the cutting torch to get it off lol.
