Wheelchair motor to go kart or scooter project?

I have 2 motors
24v
6amp
2000rpm

I belive they are brush

First question
Are brushless motors better for go karts?

Also, my plan is to make a dual motor go kart or scooter, but not sure if my motors or their specs are at least good for anything over 10mph

They do have gearbox with unknown ratio (guessing about 10:1)


Fell free to give me advice on what motor specs I should be looking for
I know that gearing is also important too. I only ask because I see a lot of eBay motors(even tho specs are overated)

144 Watts electrical won't get you to speed tbh,
1kW is about the minimum for some adult fun kart.

Brushless' are not better for karts, they're just more common these days.
Ever since they conquered the RC world people think of them as "superior tech"
which in fact they're not, again just different (neither better nor worse)
only benefit: no brushes to wear out, no commutator to clean up.

Since its easily available and resonably cheap, find a 1.6-2kW BOMA motor (brushless) and a matching controller on ebay .

Ah so that wasn't a "can go karts go faster than 30mph" question but a
"what would I need to go faster than 30mph" question then..

Well, that can be answered as well of course:
to go faster you need more power than you'd need to go slow.
how much power you'll need depends on weight,
mileage is limited by battery capacity and power draw;
the more power you draw the more capacity you need for a decent runtime.

if you want to know how much power, read this
this lets you calculate the ballpark of power you'll need for any weight/speed combination

and from that you can guestimate a good battery size.
