Hey all I’m Sean and I just scored a project kart, from a buddy at work, for a project to introduce my stepson to mechanics. He’s 10 and is all about go karts, dirt bikes, and driving period. Although I’ve been in mechanics for years this is my first go kart as well so any and all tips and pointers are appreciated. From the little bit of research I’ve done tonight I believe it’s one of those Hammerhead karts with a gy6 engines with the external reverse. The kart has been spray painted and has no stickers/emblems or numbers I can find, so I can’t tell what it is exactly. It was in decent shape with a recently replaced engine before the castle nut for the reverse backed off and the gear box came apart. Instead of getting it fixed he offered it to me for my son and I pounced on it! So since I’m officially give or take $10 in fuel invested in this project lol I’m ready to get this thing back up and running and could use any help you guys have.

also take a pic of that FnR gearbox ..
there are three different types I think for the gy6 fnr gearboxes
that are not necessarily interchangeable.

I have a couple on my phone but can’t figure out how the **** to upload them on here. I’ll take a couple more when I get to the shop in the mornin and see if I can’t get them on here.
