What size tubes for 10.5" tires?

Hello!

So I've been running my trike and all was well until my tire went flat and the sleeve started to fall off.

My tire is 10.5 x 6 but the closest inner tube size I could get is a 13 x 6

It seemed to work but somehow the valve must be compromised as it started to leak at the bottom part of the stem where it goes into the tire.

Has anyone gone from tubeless to tube? If so, does tube size have to be exact to match the tire?

Back in the day when I was desperate I used to stuff a 26" tube in my 20" (bmx) tire and it always worked, just had to bunch it up evenly and make sure the valve stem was lined up straight.

10x5 tubes are available btw and should work fine

Id say if the area where the valve stem is, not sharp with a rounded edge... I reckon itll be fine...

I'm sorry, but I doubt your tyre is 10.5" OD for a 6" rim
it'll most likely be a 10.5-6-5 (10.5" OD 6" WIDE for a 5" rim)

A very common size actually (race kart fronts or junior race kart rears)
also: TUBELESS

Chances are you are trying to wedge it onto a too narrow rim, which will fail eventually anyways,
(it needs the rim to be at the very least 5" wide)

So just to avoid confusion, misread labels and such

please post a pic of the rim and the tyre's sidewall for us to see what you are trying to achieve.

PS the 11x5 tube would seem like a good idea, but it's too narrow to get enough pressure onto the sidewalls of a 6" wide tyre (it's meant for 4" max)
so I'd recommend not buying anything for now until we figured it out for sure ;)

Hey Itsid,
Take a look at the pic of my tire (tyre). I tried another tube that is 13x6 and it also failed. There are no sharp edges and the tube valve fits easily in the hole. I will have to try and find a better tube size online I guess. Not sure where I would get them though. I can't seem to locate anything.

odd denomination.. but indeed you're right.. 6" rim, who'd thunk.

anyhow, tubeless tyre... looks like a DWT monoblock racing wheel..
meant for tubeless tyres..

frankly, I don't see the need for a tube tbh.
just insert a fresh valve stem and patch the tyre instead (in case it's punctured)

PS if you INSIST on a tube, try a 145/70-6 tube
it's about 6" wide (5.7" or bigger usually 6 indeed) and with it's 70% height ratio it'd be taller than anticipated,
but at worst that'd create a wrinkle or two.
Another option is to take a plus size 13" tube like this one

(usually just 4.1" wide)
