what size of engine for a go kart

i have an old lawn tractor and i want to make a go kart out of it the only think is that the engine in it is no good so i would like to know what size is good the min horsepower and the max hp

min hp is 5, but youll only do 20 with that. there is no max hp in my opinion , but up to 15 is "safe"
