I'm building a kart using an old tiller motor (Briggs 5HP - Model 135200) and it has what is called a control bracket mounted to the engine under the gas tank. What is this for? Will I use this for anything? It seems to be separate from the throttle control but I wasn't sure if it was used as an alternate way to control the governor or something like that.
Also, the engine will only run with the choke wide open. It's been sitting for quite a while with gas in it so I'm assuming I need to clean the high speed jet and check the diaphragm.
Any ideas?
EDIT:
I have a partial answer to my question. It looks like the control bracket/lever is where I will hook up the throttle control. However, there is another cable running to a lever near the carbuerator and it is not the choke. Now I'm not sure what that one does. I'll have to keep looking into it unless someone else has some info.
