Hi Chris....MOST of us were 15 once....at least one member here barely is...and..regardless of age....we all had to start somewhere.....
But....#1: please fill out your profile location....we don't want to stalk you...it just helps in a lot of ways.....
#2: Karts are a leeeeetly bit like cars/trucks/vans.....they aren't all the same....so...it would be helpful if we knew what kind of kart you had in mind.....

It's best to buy a used one and fix it up unless you like large headaches. You will only get small headaches if you buy at least a used go kart/frame.

You say you have "been studying for a while now" Have you studied this site. There are some great guys here with tons of knowledge. You can post links to craigs list and ebay etc to get opinions before you buy, people do it all the time. Also if you look around here closely you can get a feel of what would be a good kart and what is goofy there is some crazy stuff out there. Karting is great fun as much building and restoring as driving IMO.

Yes....but..YoungOnewithaManco just turned 15 a short time ago....and there's one or two others that I just can't remember the names of at the moment.....

Got to admit with all he knew i thought he was older lol sure coulda fooled me .
Good plans are a good start if you have a machine shop and knowledge at your disposal..
I've came to the conclusion that with every kart that needs work the more metal fabrication tool's you (I) need.
Ive begun the spiral to amass as much as i can..
