Wet clutch and CVT

Hi guys,

Im just looking for some guidance as to what could be wrong with my go kart's 6.5hp 2:1 wet clutch. It wont disengage at idle speed and wants to continually turn the wheels. Just wondering if its a quick or free fix like an adjustment, or is something likely worn out and needs replacing. Im not very familiar with wet clutches so any advice would be much appreciated.

On another question i want to put a predator 670 on said go kart after i get bored driving around with only 6.5hp. I have ordered a Polaris rzr 1000 primary and secondary cvt and will machine the necessary fixtures to mount it to the engine and frame. I was just wondering if i went with the right decision instead of my other option which was a 40 series cvt? I felt like that the engine would be pushing the limits on the 40 series cvt stock, let alone when i plan to upgrade the engine. Keeping in mind the kart is only a single seater with not a huge amount of weight but i still figured it would be pushing it.

Cheers,

Denny

The wet clutch is probably fried if using at part throttle, low speeds or off road (not concrete or asphalt surfaces)
While I have never worked with them the Razor clutches are probably the better choice. Where are you getting them from? How much? Make sure you keep this thread going with plenty of pictures for the rest of us planning a similar project!

Bad news couldnt get the Polaris cvt to work. So i found a beefed up 40 series online, might go with that.

I'm interested in your "beefed up 40 series". Could you go into some detail about it please.
