Well I’ve not been on a webforum in years.
This is a change from Facebook.
So here I am!
My go kart is not really a DIY kart. But my mods will be.
Hoping to find some advice on here.
I think I just attached 2 photos. I guess we will see when I hit post.
Last summer I picked up a 2007-2008 freightlinner go kart
It was in pretty rough shape. It’s been sitting out side for 10 years never used.
So I got it running, once I figure out attachments I have some videos
And it ran ok. But the carb was bad, had to have it rebuilt.
And I needed to add a pulse pump to keep it running. The fuel tank sits just below the carb.
The fiberglass was faded so I painted it as well.
Many mods planned for this year.
-Relocating the engine to the front,
-having both drive axles functional, right now only one wheel drives it.
-Upgrading the brakes, it has a 4” band, the. truck with me is well over 1000lbs. It’s scary stopping some times.
-Raising the seat, I’m 6’4” 375lbs I can’t get up and down inthay little space.
- the engiencand seat will require the steering to be modified
- maybe lenghting it to be proper scale, and give me a little more room.
-cutting thehood to make it functional
-adding a transmission with forward and reverse (this will be my first post shortly asking for advice)
-getting larger tires
-raising the body on the frame, reinforcing the body, and maybe a hinge system to open the entire body to make it easier to working and get in and out.
- and I think last, building a new trailer. Going to make it large enough the semi will fit on the trailer, and the trailer can’t be pulled by a car to events, then by the truck when we get there.
