Volt-Zone RC Club (not really on-going, but it was fun while it lasted)

This was a project Radio Control Club I invested a lot of time, effort and money... unfortunatly things didn't go smooth and it only lasted half a year, but at least I can show you something with effort put into.
The project started in June 2011 when me and a few friends finally found a affordable space, at the whereabouts of Ramada, near Lisbon.

We met with the owner a few times and the project got a green flag, so we took a few pics of this basement's last day as... well, a basement:

After a while, it was already painted white, our base coat for the next paint jobs:

After the white coat we started the fun bit, decorating:

Here we can see our painters, the smart one - André "Carebear" (top pic) and the super-macho - Ivan "Gyo" (bottom pic):

A little untidy, but you can start to see results on the right side... (top pic) - ...and the left side too (bottom pic):

And we proceeded to installing a 11 feet long table on the wall for space management, supports first... (top pic) - ...and the tops after (bottom pic):

Unfortunatly I didn't manage to take more pictures after that update because it was almost the day of the grand opening and there was still a ton of work to be done, meaning sleepless overnights till it was ready.

A stuctural problem that needed urgent attention, our friend Emanuel taking care of the problem of a tube that was really persistant in leaking when it rained (top pic)
Our balcony had to move a bit so we could have space for a glass display, it's smaller but it does a even better job (bottom pic)

Another issue was the lack of space and light for the work bench, the problem was solved by creating a electrified table. You can see in the 1st phase of assembly that it features 12 plugs for 6 people (top pic) and the finished product showing the light setup and a lot of tools sitting on it (bottom pic):

The solution for charging the batteries while working on the wall fixed table was pretty neat, we installed a full stretch of plugs and top shelves to put the chargers (top pic)
Here's what made us move the balcony, this display was intended to show exclusive pieces produced by the Club members (bottom pic)

Cool, I used to race electric 1/10 scale (Losi and Team Associated) cars at a couple tracks here in my town. One of the tracks was inside like yours, I'm looking forward to seeing your track layout!

Well, as long as you had fun while it lasted I'd say it was worth it. Every one is allowed to dream a bit.

Trust me, the fun (that was really small compared to the work it gave) was good, but I won't try to make another club like that again.
However, I am on the process of making another racetrack out of carpet, for me and a few friends to run on.

This was the Mini-Z track we had for the opening

Also had this carpet track for who preffered old school grip

Oh and btw, I had this carpet track made in my house back in 2008, it was my 1st built track and was great for practice cornering (only 23" wide)
