I have a small SUV, and its a royal pain in the *** to get my kart in and out of the back...Removing the kids car seats etc. The vehicle is only a 4 cyl but 4 wheel drive. Would it be possible to get a small trailer hitch, and trailer, small enough to tow a kart or 2 around? Or would even somthing that small be really bad for car?

Looks like my model has a 1500 LB tow rating, im thinking that should be sufficient, not sure how much a small trailer would weigh though....

as long as your load is balanced and the trailer tracks right, it shouldn't be a problem. they make the hidden hitches for most if not all modern vehicles. 4wd is hardly an issue pulling a trailer, unless you plan on pulling it down some ruff trails. hauling a go kart or two with a trailer shouldn't even require a trans cooler, as far as i know. just remember to give yourself more room to start and stop your mobile assembly (car and trailer)

You'll be fine, a smallish trailer may only weigh a good 300-700lbs
I've been eying up HF's folding trailers to haul my karts, granted I have a truck capable of towing a trailer landscapers use, but no room for the trailer.

I've seen passenger cars towing wave runners before without any issues.
An after market trans cooler couldn't hurt though, but most suvs and trucks have external ones already so you would just go bigger.

Recently towed close to 4000 lbs with our subaru outback. Had to balance it very carefully and travel VERY slowly. It was only for 20kms, but it hasn't done any damage to the car. It has a huge trans cooler though.

*EDIT*
was towing this home

Pretty sure you'll be fine. They make those tow hitches with at least a 3x safety margin
