Has anyone heard of the Dan Gurney Alligator? Incase you haven’t, it’s described as a recumbent motorcycle. If anyone makes their own frames, has anyone tried to make a bike like that? Just curious, I think it would make an interesting mini bike!

I attached the picture, not sure if I did it right from an iPhone.

Good to go from here...

When I built my bike, originally it was supposed to look alot like that... I had forgot to offset ground clearance when I made the frame...
Overall an interesting design... Mind you I like having both feet flat on the ground when sitting on the bike at a stop... Otherwise it's a 2 legged horse...

As a minibike built like this, your removing quite alot of seat height from an already short seat height bike... Might be difficult to ride safely...

McKutzy, I do agree it might be a little too low on a mini bike. I was just curious to see if anyone had tried it. Did you build a bigger bike (like a motorcycle)? That sounds pretty cool.
As for being that close to a maxed out engine, where’s your sense of adventure? Lol

I like that bike frame above almost as much as I liked the movie remake of that georgeous tv series.

frankly.. it's a lot alike actually..
"ohhh we ran out of money.. quick to an end with this movie"
"oh we ran out of steel... quick to the floor with this seatpan"

Nahhh recumbent motorcycle.. geesh sissy bar and ape hangers on a knucklehead.. DONE!

that thing just looks hilarious..
a full grown man being unable to look over the tank of his motorcycle,
and you cannot look even halfway smart if you're trying to get off it..
drop to the left, crawl three feet and get up like a toddler?? yeah that's cool!

It doesn't look like it from the picture, but most riders' line of sight is actually well above the windscreen.

The engine is based on a Honda XR650L. Knowing what I know about them, I have a hard time imagining a reliable 70hp out of that engine. That's twice the stock power and 650Ls have marginal cooling in stock form. When the closely related XR600 was winning Baja, it was common to weld big fin extensions on the head and it was making a lot less than 70hp.

I do like the looks of Drop seat frames.... But not on sport bikes... This one is kinda ridiculously low...
Low fromes like a V-Rod, looks better and proportionate, this one a telephone pole fell on it square...
