Throttle not making motor go? whats bad?

hi guys so i order a yk31c controller and throttle hook all up i get power 25v but no throttle?

the throttle is the only 3 wire connection on that controller right?
i put the red to red blk to blk and green to blue, but nothing?
do i need to jump any of the other connections im not using ?
brake, brake light, indicator light, and charger port? they are all unused
how do i check if its the controller or throttle thats bad?

that's a hall effect throttle!!!

you need a hall effect sensor on the other end
(red +5V.. black GND and the green line is the signal with 1-4V against GND)

you can try a potentiometer setup ( 2 kOhm should do)
black and red to the windings and green to the wiper
but it's not a permanent solution IMHO

get a hall effect throttle

it showed 1.000 k ohms even when twisting the throttle , red and blk wire right? i also tried red and green and black and green as well and it would show OL open line?

u said thats a hall throttle , then you said i should buy a hall throttle ? im confused , which throttle will work with this controller ?

OK I TOUCHED THE WIRES AND IT WORKED!! �� BUT very low power��??? barely makes the motor go?? if i put the motor directly to battery its fast ?
i do notice when i twist the throttle voltage drops to 21v ? is that why? or is that normal when u twist ?

I've just done some research on that throttle. :thumbsup:

Here is how I (believe) it should be connected.

There should be (5) wires on this throttle
1.) red = 5VDC (+)
2.) black = GND (-)
3.) green = signal (.9V - 4.4V)

4.) yellow = batt positive(+)
5.) blue = on/off switch (signal)

So, the throttle plug should be connected to #1, #2 & #3
…& the electric lock plug should be connected to #4 & #5

* with the battery pack connected, you have to check the electric lock plug (with a multi meter) to determine which wire is positive (+) pack voltage.

Then, connect #4 to the positive (+) wire of the electric lock plug (it also supplies the voltage signal to the meter) & #5 to the other (signal) wire to complete the key switch circuit. :2guns:

thats what i tried? yellow goes to 24v because the voltage display on throttle comes on when connected.. and the last wire goes into the next hole next to it.. even with full throttle twist it only produces very little power to motor, like a trickle? im thinking maybe because batteries are low ? but would the motor go fast if plugged directly to battery ?

this is from the description page of the item i bought

Yellow wire: power +(24v 36v 48v )
red wire: +5v
green wire: signal
black wire: -
blue wire: I/O button(such as light,horn)
white wire: I/O button(such as light,horn)

there is not white wire lol ..

STUPID ME , IT WAS JUST DEAD BATTERIES LOL.. I charged them up and it works perfectly

But throttle works even if key is in off position?
how do i fix that?

Sometimes it's the simplest little thing... :lolgoku:

The electric lock circuit's function is to turn the speed controller on or off.
...when off, the throttle should not operate.

I tested the wires on this throttle, when I turned the key switch on the (yellow & blue) wires made contact & when I switched it off, it broke the connection.
...but, I did notice that the meter stayed on, even with the switch off. :huh:

So, it looks like:
the yellow (electric lock) wire supplies power (+) (pack voltage) to the meter & also to the key switch.
The blue (electric lock) wire is the return to complete the electric lock circuit. (turns the speed controller on or off)
The red (throttle) wire supplies power (+) 5VDC to the throttle.
The green (throttle) wire provides the signal (how fast you want to go)
The black (throttle) wire supplies the GND (-) for the throttle circuit & the voltage meter. too. :2guns:
