As Robert said
matters on the engine model
Give us the model number. We can research it and more easily determine your needs. All engine information is stamped on flywheel housing in one of several places depending on age of engine. Look at where coil wire exits housing and you should see a string of numbers there. Also could be along flat side of housing above flywheel bulge just to right of carburetor. Look carefully, it is there. This applies to aluminum block engines made after 1957 (roughly).
Click on attached. Red spots (left pic) indicate where to look (could be elsewhere). Right pic shows actual numbers that you need to use as an identifier.
In this example, model is 170402 (17 cu.in., 04 means horizontal crankshaft), type is 2155 01 (determines crankshaft type and other stuff), code is 84062812. The last number (code) indicates that this engine was built on June 28, 1984. Last 2 digits indicate manufacturing plant and assembly line.
