im planning on making a very fast a responsive kart but street legal .. im going to use a salveged title from a mini cooper for this ... but anyways i have the frame and body all fabricated to a mini lambo look im having some questions on how i would be able to take the R1 engine i have and put it in the sucker .. and eventually have some one install a paddle shifter or some kinda of manumatic with out losing any performance from this motor.... also having trouble finding a tranny that would be compadable to make that motor work with a kart ...

ohh.. thats why im asking people .. cause i can do all the fabricating in the world but when it comes to the motor and stuff im lost ...thats why im doing this so i can learn how to... its just im doing this as part of my resume to get into a tech school to engineer f1 cars and superbikes ... so i can just fabricate a sprocket on the front axel and hook it up to the motor as a direct feed, and i would have to gear the front axel right as well

dont have to hook up front wheels most people use rear only. you would have to do a hell of alot of fab.... getting into dog bones and transfer cases. just use the rear axle... hey heres a thought ... instead of doing all this work just strap and 502 big block in a 72 bug yull get bang for your buck there prolly be the first to do it too hey post pics of your progress would love to see the kind of work your capable of doing

im not hooking it up to both .. i have decided to hook it up to the rear.. but im trying to find a bigger axel for both front and back but need a longer axel for the back.. is there any places that sell on/off road go kart axels?
