Thinking of a New Scooter Project

Hey guys i was thinking of making myself a decent gas powered scooter. For my power id use the Jiangdong 5.5hp honda clone engine thats on my kart right now. for the drive id just use the cent. clutch that was on my donor kart, and use the rear wheel assembly from the old go kart with 1 wheel drive for the rear. i have the front end of an electric scooter that i hacked up for another project so i was just planning to make the rear end to hold the wheel and the motor and then connect that to the front end that i already have and have myself a decent lil scooter.

i have some old angle iron and tubing that i can use. I dont have a welder though:toetap05:


Edit my civics teacher is also a tool maker and owns like 5 welders and his own machine shop. I have like a 90 something in his class so i think that if i make some plans and ask him nicely and formally hell help me weld up the frame

Ill post some pictures of what i have tomorrow so i can show you guys what i meant.

Does this sound like a good project? Im making it so that i can have something to scoot around the neighborhood in thats not too big so i can ride it on the side walks and the streets and not get in trouble.

Sounds good, yep ask your teacher, he'll probly help you out. You can try to convince him by promising him a ride on the scooter when you are done.
