Howdy. My uncle gifted me a Tecumseh OHH60 6 horsepower motor, that was previously on a manco dingo go kart. I've got a new carburetor on it, I've been able to get the motor to fire, but I'm having trouble with the throttle linkage and carburetor linkage. I've been trying to find examples online, but I haven't found anything that looks exactly like my motor. This is my first time venturing away from the predator series engines, and I am out of my comfort zone. I've seen some stuff about people doing governor deletes, which I am not opposed to doing. If anybody could either help me out or point me in the right direction, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

Do not delete a governor on a Tacasheema engine the rods are made of cheap rubber. They break easy enough with the governor intact. Pictures will help us help you.

I tried to attach photos in my first post attempt, but I must not have let them upload all the way. Hopefully they are attached now.

Looks like your missing quite a few parts to even make the governor work properly.

Id at least put a spring for the governor to pull on so it doesn't fly apart.
Put your throttle cable directly to the carb butterfly.

There's a reason people dont like Tecumshit engines.

☝️And yet Tecumseh made reliable engines for many years and a few racing engines as well. Their big block ones, 8+ HP, I've never had a problem with them, very rugged. Opinions are like _______, everyone's got one and they all stink! 😄

You could chase down the governor linkage parts for your OHH60, I bet many shops have them in stock but a direct linkage like WT Rocker says would yield similar results.

Here's some literature. On the second one, see chapter 4 page 22 for governor info.

Tecumseh's always worked good for me throughout the years. All older versions. Probably 1995 and older. All the old Ruttman minibikes came with them. We could get those 3.5hp buggers hauling @ss!
