Tecumseh is part of US History. or is it?

So I'm flipping my US History book open to do a little studying, when I see this dude in my book.

William Tecumseh Sherman was a civil war terrorist, and war criminal, that should have been tried and convicted of war crimes against civilians after the civil war. Far from a hero in any since of the meaning.

Now the Shawnee leader Tecumseh was a true American hero.

The engines name was referring to the chief, not Sherman:

War is war and it was not over yet right? No nothing of what this guy did but just saying.

I was stating what I knew about the general an his place in history. Do I care about whether what he did was okay? No.

Oh, for Pete's sake...this forum is for diy gokarts, not a bunch of name-calling and grinding historical axes. Now if you want to talk about grinding a historic AXLE, I'm all ears.

Tecumseh engines were named after the Chief, as was General Sherman, iirc.

since i wasn't there i'll take no "sides"...but war by definition is atrocity, and there is always plenty to go around on both sides. militarily, again without taking sides, attacking the enemy's infrastructure can save lives, consider how many more dead (on both sides) if Sherman's army had expended the same energy on an active battlefield.

but yaknow what? there's lots of stuff about 19th century Americana that's way more interesting than war...
