Stop the scratches

I expect many people on this forum have expensive gadgets like mobile phones and iPods that they will pull out of their pockets with their oily scratchy hands to answer a call etc. whilst working on their karts...

I also expect some people on this forum get irritated when their devices get scratched

What am I getting to?

I have searched the internet and found the solution for me:
Best skins ever: their name is pretty accurate.

What is it? A thin film of slightly stretchy/rubbery plastic which is used on helicopter blades apparently.

I have put a BSE full body skin on my iPod after using many cheap ($1-3) screen protectors. I then decided to spend $10 or so on this skin and it is great. I tried scratching it with some keys, and within a few minutes the scratches were gone.

I will now use a BSE skin on every expensive device I own!

I get the feeling that this stuff is a ripoff of Zagg's InvisibleShield, which was originally developed for the leading edges of helicopter rotors to protect them in dusty/dirty conditions which can literally sand blast the rotors and damage them. This company is awesome. I had one on my LG Dare, it got scuffed, I peeled if off, paid $4 return shipping, and they sent me a brand new one. The replacement lasted over 3 years with no marks or peeling. The phone died before the screen cover. I have had one on my Droid X for a year now and will be putting a full body coverage on my new Droid 3. This stuff is awesome. If it every scuffs, scratches, or peels just mail it back and get a new one free.

I'm sticking with Zagg. Their warranty plus excellent customer service is worth the extra money to me. I just bought a full coverage set for my new Droid 3. Plus, Zagg offers way more options for devices as well as their custom designable skins.

I also cannot see the point on spending $30 to protect a gadget worth 2 or 3 times as much. Maybe on an expensive $250 up gadget though.
