Well,

I'm a technology teacher in Sydney Australia and have been converting a Victa Mower (truly Australian) into a vintage style kart.

I used to have and restored a '68 Fiat 500 2 cylinder.
Now the single cylinder Victa is occupying that head space.

My friends are tipping a trimmer based broom-stick next...

The build blog is coming together for anyone interested...http://www.victaproject.blogspot.com/

I will have some video up soon and am interested to talk to anyone about tuning Victas or fitting a mikuni carby.

Good forum, i should have joined earlier and will be passing the details to the many students who ask each year about building a go-kart.

regards...

Hello MrS, and welcome to the forum. There's some folks on here that should be able to give you some helpful Victa info. I look forward to seeing your build. Cheers!

I love the go kart, That frame is alsome. Are the sides bent as one piece or is it bent in sections and welded together? And welcome from one new guy to another.

Thankyou, do you have something that your working on ?
The sides are 3 peices oxyweld together. The top tube is partially cut and closed then oxyweld to form the small angles.
I"ll see if i can post some earlier pics into the blog. The rear is 2 "U" bends and the other peices are fabricated the up to them. Lots of check measuring and temporary jigs etc to keep it all true.
