Skipping Safety Wiring???

All right don't exactly know if this is the right place to put this but didn't see a mower section…

So I have a Crafstman Lt1000 couple years old. The problem is that it won't start because something in the safety wirings holding it back. So how would you basically bypass the safety wiring???

What kind of safety?

I mean, some stuff is not just a "good idea" but a "REALLY" GOOD idea. And other stuff, heck it breaks, and sometimes people do what they need to do.

I had an old riding mower where the solenoid went out. So I would turn the key to "on" and then jump across the solenoid. Not probably totally "safe" rated but I felt OK with it.

Usually the switch is normally open or normally closed

There by if u unplug the sensor it may fix it

Or jump it across

You can cut out the safety system fairly easy, theirs a few videos on youtube. on briggs engines its super easy, i havnt tryed it with 80's-90's and up kohlers tho, they seem like a mess of wiring.

easy way is to unplug the sensors and put jumpers in all the connectors. But the better way is to isolate the starter and charging wires and get rid of everything else. It can be compicated since they usually operate off of the ignition switch with 1000 wires coming off of it. Honestly Id be lost too. I suck at wiring so I have my brother do it.

We don't have a tractor or mower section, but we do have an "Other" section. I'll move this there. Now-

Naturally, I cannot publicly condone removing safety features, so- if you get hurt, you're on your own...

Now- Start by trying to start the machine "Properly". Sit your butt on the seat (pressure switch) engage the parking brake (another switch) ensure the PTO switch or lever is disengaged (yet another switch) and the tranny is in neutral (another switch) and be sure to push the clutch pedal all the way in (ANOTHER!!!)

If it still refuses to do anything, you'll have to dig deeper. But before you do, let's continue to eliminate potential issues. Is your battery fully charged? Good electrical connections including grounds? When you turn the key to start- do you hear a "click" from the solenoid at all? Does the starter spin? What's happening?

Ive already tried everything you said and no it didn't work I had my dad look at it and he's a electrician and nothing worked so far. resolution to be would be x all of it out?

Try not to take this the wrong way, but:

I would think that an electrician would be able to make short work of the problem. Testing the switches for operation, and the wiring for continuity is very basic and straightforward.

Did anybody put a test light on the starter, and on the solenoid, to see if the voltage is being delivered?

And I was in a self inflicted sickness last post
So I'll try again

Make sure there's no physical damage to any sensors
And make sure u have oil

Try jump starting it off a known good source

If that fails

Put the jumpers on the starter and try it
Still fails

Take a small peice of wire and jump from the posative to the signal wire on your soliniod
If it starts now then it's a problem in the key circuit

All the sensors do is to act as if the key was in off

So
It grounds the coils so a spark can't be produced
Some sensors may prevent the Key from sending 12volts

Save now before phone dies

Is it not turning over
Or not fireing

If it's not turning over then it's likely the low oil or pto on off
Is it's not fireing then the rest

It'll be easer to fix the system then strip it

I'll put money on two things
Corrosion in a plug
Or a switch that's been damaged

They put safety switches on there to keep you/some else alive or from being maimed. So I do not advocate removing/by passing them. 1st of all, get a wiring schematic for your tractor, then you will know where the switches are located. Most garden/lawn tractors, the white wire on the ignition switch is used to control the safety switches. If so isolate that wire and see what happens. What kind of shape is your battery and grounds in? When a piece of equipment comes into my shop with the safties either bye passed/removed, I explain to the owner that by law I have to return it to its manufactured condition ( i.e. all safties must be working) if they do not want to do that, then out the door they go with there equipment.
