Removing The **** govenor!

hi, i have read various things saying how to remove the govenor but i dont know my way round these engines at all. im a two stroke man! i have a gx200 clone but how on earth do i remove the govenor (idiots guide) can anyone shed some light? thanks

All you really need to do if you dont want to use the govener is unhook the spring that goes from the govener to the throttle linkage and use the spring to hold the govener arm back so it wont move. I have done this many times and never had a problem. You will have to fab some parts to use for your throttle.

Removing the governor is very simple, as dropzone says, and it will improve throttle response and red-line rpm.

just loosen the spring it will rev higher then but not so high that you trash the engine

DO NOT just adjust the springs. It IS NOT safe to increase RPM while the gov parts are still spinning inside the motor. It's a very simple process that can be completed in 30 minutes.
